If you’re at all tuned into today’s “Run for the Roses”, you just might recognize those names. They are the experts top picks for the winner of this year’s Kentucky Derby. Of course, each expert has a different list, but taken together and averaged out these are your best bets.
The thing is, on any given day, the experts can all be proven wrong. What matters most is which one of those magnificent horses has the will to go all out to win. It took breeding, training, faith and more than a bit of luck to get there but it’s heart that defines the difference in a winner and those that “also ran”.
That’s pretty much the way it is in life, don’t you think? Most folks are content to hang back with the crowd. Or, maybe not content. Perhaps they don’t know how to break out of the pack.
